The Clear ultrasonic cleaner is a short project aiming to improve the experience of cleaning eyewear for people with prescription glasses.
Clear is meant to be used on a daily basis, becoming part of the morning routine in the bathroom. Simply fill the cleaner with tap water, add a few drops of the provided cleaning solution, insert the glasses, and press the power button to initiate the cleaning process. Once finished, the glasses can be removed and wiped dry with a microfiber cloth, and the remaining liquid in the cleaner can be emptied into the sink.
Ultrasonic cleaning is a well understood technology widely used by opticians and the jewellery industry, and more commonly known by its use in electric toothbrushes. It’s a highly effective process that uses ultrasonic waves to cause tiny particles in water and other liquids to vibrate, effectively scrubbing any submerged object, reaching even into the tiniest of crevices.
